Based in Lithgow with a city pad.

 

“My main media is oil on canvas and I have been a practicing the art of painting for twelve years now. My favourite genres are still life and streetscapes.”

Kathy’s paintings of figs and quinces impart a visual deliciousness which compliments her ability to put together a remarkable quince paste. In this way her works have been translated beyond the urbane image of fruit into a ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’.

​

 

Kathy created a series of paintings based on streets around Lithgow, which included the houses of people she knew giving them greater purpose and a sense of place. Part of Kathy’s practice has been involved with painting portraits of her grandchildren with some influence from American-French artist Mary Cassatt.
